Edward began working with us, having been highly recommended by a former piano teacher here at the University. Edward is popular with students and has been employed (in addition to his teaching) to mentor music scholars towards performance and transcribe music for students for special music events.

Edward is patient, understanding and dedicated – he is a thoughtful and very committed teacher.  I think he inspires more by modelling his own passion for music rather than telling students what to do. This works very well in my view  and means that any students working with him will get a wider sense of what it is to love music. Edward is a composer and pianist and we have attended a few of his concerts. He also organises concerts locally for his piano students – in acknowledgement of the fact that piano is as much about performance and sharing the music as it is exams.

Just a quick note to say I really enjoyed your lesson yesterday. I learned some really great things about harmony and you took things that were unclear for me and made them easy to understand. You’re skill as a composer helped me to improve my score. Thank you very much!
